Frequently Asked Questions

1.      What is the Sujiatun Death Camp?  A hospital?  A prison?

The Sujiatun Death Camp is concealed inside of the Liaoning Thrombus Treatment Center of Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine, also called the National Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Thrombus Treatment Center.  The hospital is located at 49 Xuesong RoadSujiatun DistrictShenyang CityLiaoning ProvinceChina.  It does not look like a prison, nor is it registered as a prison in pubic records.   The back side of the hospital is a closed area.

2.      Where is Sujiatun?

Sujiatun is one of the nine districts governed by Shenyang City.  It is a satellite city 15 kilometers to the South of Shenyang City.  It is a rural area with the population of 430,000.  More than half of the population is peasants.

3.      Where is the Falun Gong practitioners kept?

During 2001 and 2003, they were kept in one-story residential houses in the back of the hospital.  Around 2003, these houses were dismantled.  Staff working at the hospital thinks there is a secret basement detaining the remaining 2,000 Falun Gong practitioners.

4.      What is the process?  Were they killed right away or were they killed after being detained for a while?

There is no difference.  The Falun Gong practitioners detained at the Sujiatun Hospital were sent from different prisons in various areas, for example, Masanjia Prison and Dabei Prison.   The purpose of sending them to the Sujiatun Hospital is very simple:  slaughter.  None of them left the hospital live.

Their organs were removed and bodies burned in the “boiler room.”

5.      Why is this done?  How could this be done?

The communist regime has the policy of “extinguish them [Falun Gong practitioners] physically” in the persecution of Falun Gong.  A Chinese Shenyang City official web site reported that in year 2000, the Liaoning Thrombus Treatment Center of Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine organized all Chinese communist party members to “watch the central policy of banning Falun Gong and see clearly the cult nature of Falun Gong.”  The ex-wife of one of the surgeons who specialized on cornea live removal said that all surgeons knew people on the operation tables were Falun Gong practitioners.  They were told it was not a crime, but “cleaning” for the Chinese communist party.

6.      Why organ removal?

Organs, especially organs removed live from healthy people, are very lucrative business. Now in Shenyang City, one can see kidney advertisements everywhere in public telephone booths and electricity poles.  The organ “brokers” emphasize that they have fresh organ source from healthy people between the age of 8 and 30 years old.

7.      How did someone come into know this?

The information was first revealed by a Chinese journalist who used to work in a Japanese news agency.  When he was investigating SARS related issues in Shenyang City in 2003, he obtained the name of Sujiatun from his conversations with some high-ranking communist cadres in Department of Health in Liaoning Province and Shenyang City.  The person who mentioned the name acted like he had slipped his tongue.  When the journalist wanted to learn more about Sujiatun, nobody wanted to talk about it.  Based on his instinct, he thought that Sujiatun concealed a huge secret.

Later on, he talked to dozens of people who worked in the Sujiatun Hospital and obtained information about the death camp.

“…The operation of the Sujiatun death camp started as early as 2001, reaching its peak in 2002. Near a hospital in Sujiatun, the death camp facility is underground because it was built upon the existing infrastructure of an aerial defense facility. It has at least one exit located at the back of the hospital. From above the ground, one cannot identify anything unusual about the death camp. It is isolated and guarded with a high-level of security. It has its own supply system, including underground stores….”
